What I Shoot

I am Sony. I shoot on a series of Alpha Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras. The Alpha7r3, and Alpha7r4 are my current bodies. I use Sony lenses as well. I find that Sony has been a leader of the pack when it comes to mirrorless full-frame cameras.

New in 2024 I will be shooting with the Sony a1 mirrorless camera.

Night / Astrophotography requires some special lenses.

  • My go-to for deep Milky Way images is the Sony 14mm, f/1.8, G Master

Wildlife photography requires these lenses.

  • Sony 200-600mm, f/5.6-6.3 G OSS
  • Sony 70-200mm, f/2.8 G Master OSS

Then there are the must-haves that can do so many things.

  • Sony 16-35mm, f/4.0 G Master
  • Sony 24-70mm, f/ 2.8 G Master

Purchasing the best equipment doesn’t automatically give you great images, but it doesn’t hurt either. And if you are like me and do not settle for second best in anything, I will always look for the top-of-the-line equipment. I will no doubt build more equipment as my lifestyle allows. Stay tuned for more astrophotography-related equipment to allow for more creativity in my images.
